How Will You Reach the World?
The World Beyond
Christ died for sinners.
It's that simple reality that compels us to go and make disciples of every nation - regardless of the cost, regardless of what we have to leave behind. The CGO wants our students to feel the need for cross-cultural gospel ministry in a changing world. The missions methods may be changing - but the message remains the same. The same message that the Apostle Paul, Hudson Taylor and Jim Elliot took up is the same message that the students of BJU can take up and spread in the world beyond. |
Mission Internships
Each summer, students in any major can take a cross-cultural service internship. It is a guided course for credit, facilitated by Mr. Mark Vowels. Each intern is paired with a veteran missionary family and spends about eight weeks learning the culture and ministry of their host country.
Students have been all around the world - from the deserts of Arizona to the deserts of North Africa - and they come back saying that this trip was the highlight of their training. Here are a couple testimonies from past interns. |
"The biggest thing God taught me through this was that there are believers all over the world with unique testimonies and situations, but the root of each testimony and Christian life is Christ. Things can look, sound, and feel different, but at the end of the day we are all brothers and sisters in Christ."
-Austin Lazzell, Spain |
"I have learned that missionary life is far more emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually challenging than I thought it was! Just know that your prayers for missionaries are never in vain; they are greatly needed and appreciated."

Advancing Missions in the Student BodyMissions Advance (formerly Mission Prayer Band) exists to cultivate in the student body a passion for God’s glory resulting in greater participation in world missions through learning, praying and mobilizing.
Meet with other students on Monday and Thursday nights at 9 p.m. in Alumni 217 for a time of learning and praying about the needs of believers and missionaries around the world. After chapel, Monday-Thursday, come to the CGO for a quick time of prayer before noon. God's heart is for the nations of the world. Missions Advance helps you to understand what it means to "reach beyond yourself." |
